Back in 2002 I founded Lamin-x Protective Films to create an entirely new market of lens, paint, and surface protection for the automotive aftermarket products industry. I was inspired by the racing industry's use of yellow headlights, and realized the market potential of clear and colored film covers for the automotive market. We wanted to use a quality product that is thick and strong enough to protect surfaces for long distance racing, yet it needed to be clear enough to not affect light optics. From that idea became an entire line-up of products that serve multiple, even endless purposes for many different industries.
Starting from a spare bedroom of my house then to small office areas, I bootstrapped and cold-called the path to building a business. Through the many years of hard work the initial inspiration and visions have come true. Our customers have allowed us to create a solid business that has been growing every year since starting. As of October 2010 we have finally moved into our very own new building that will allow us to support the growth and also to help improve our products and services. Needless to say we are quite excited about this new milestone.
Today, we have hundreds of different vendors using and selling all of our films in many various and creative ways. Either to solve unique problems or just for looks. You can find Lamin-x being used and sold at Accessory Shops of different industries, Light Manufacturers, Paint Protection Installers, Graphic and Tint Shops, Equipment Manufacturers, Race Teams, Commercial Buildings, Boat Manufacturers, etc... Our protective films are that versatile.
We still strive to maintain a high level of customer service, product quality, value through protection, and flexibility to solve our customer's unique problems. These values will help continue our success, which will carry us into new, exciting markets and ventures.
