Custom Making your Order

Nearly every precut order is custom manufactured specifically for you at time of ordering. So your order may take 1-5 workday's manufacturing time. Please allow at least 2-10 days for delivery of product after the product has been shipped. The customer is responsible to make prior arrangements with the carrier if not available to receive and sign for the product.

A "professional quality" installation does require some acquired knowledge & ability for which Lamin-x Protective Films cannot be held accountable. We will provide instructions & tools with your order, along with verbal help via telephone, or e-mail correspondence. The purchase & installation of Lamin-x Protective Film precut kits is done so at the buyer’s risk.

What is the difference between Lamin-x and the cheaper imitation or auction products I find?
This is the perfect "You get what you pay for" situation. Those cheap films are a thin 2-3 mil sticker type of film. That has a dull "orange-peel" hazy finish, thin adhesive, no impact protection, & not forgiving to install on any lights that have a compound curve. Lamin-x is the complete opposite of that cheap stuff. Glossy finish, 12-40 mils thick for impact protection, forgiving installation, & designed to mold around complex curves. We design our own patterns to work with our own film. Most people find that cheaper sticker overlay a waste of time and money. Don't be one of them!

Are your colored films legal on headlights for street use?
Our clear films are usually legal, but our colored films may not be legal for street use on primary lighting. Hence they are recommended for off-road use only. Please check your state or local laws before application. Installation of colored Lamin-x on your primary lights is done so at your own risk.

How dark are your smoked films?
Tint is our lightest film that blocks only 5% of light
Gunsmoke is our medium film that blocks 12% of light
Smoke is our medium-dark film that blocks 17% of light
Charcoal is our black-out film that blocks 30% of light

Can I do a custom design with Lamin-x?
You can do a custom installation with either our Universal Covers or a precut kit. Just cover the desired area and custom trim to fit by lighting scoring the outside layers of the Lamin-x and peeling away the excess film. No need to cut all the way through it. If you want to use a Universal Cover, just measure the height & length of the area your want to cover by using a tailors tape. The selecting the most appropriate size from our online store. What to do if you have fogginess, air or water bubbles, surface texture, or scratches after your Lamin-x installation?
Once the film fully cures (normally a couple weeks of warm sunlight), most imperfections will completely disappear. Lamin-x is a breathable and self-healing polyvinyl film. Just be patient and keep it exposed to sunlight warmth.

How do I remove the film?
Lamin-x can be easily removed without damage to the light. Upon initial application, the film can be pulled back up and reapplied numerous times if not installed correctly. Lamin-x is very forgiving. Once the film has settled (appx 48-72 hours), the product is not considered reusable. To remove, warm the film & peel off slowly. If there is any additional adhesive left on the lens, clean it off with Bug and Tar remover, Goo Gone, or similar product.
